About Us

One day in 2017, husbands Matthew & Andy and twin sisters Kara & Daniela sang together in a cabaret show at The Duplex in the West Village. They enjoyed singing harmony together and liked each other’s company so much that they wanted to do it more!

Kara & Daniela had been singing cabaret in NYC for a long time, and Matthew & Andy had run and sung in a men’s a cappella vocal ensemble in San Francisco for 20 years before moving to New York.

They decided to call themselves Inkwell Singers, after considering other options including Gays and Dolls which was kind of accurate but a bit on-the-nose. They produce their own shows in NYC at The Triad Theater and Don’t Tell Mama, but do other gigs as well.
