We Inkwell Singers--Andy, Daniela, Kara, and Matthew—have something very special in common: we all come from musical moms who sang, played, and loved music, and they shared that love with us. Their appreciation of a broad range of musical genres has infused and shaped us as individuals as well as who we are as a singing group.
All in, our moms have played classical piano and guitar, performed in high school musical productions, and sung in choral groups, and at fairs and protests. They embraced musical theater, folk, Top 40, standards, and French and Italian pop. Musical theater was a common denominator in all of our homes, with Rodgers & Hammerstein and other musicals considered "must-see TV" in a pre-streaming age. SUNRISE, SUNSET is about the music our moms loved and shared with us and it's an homage to the ways our moms turn up in our own musical choices in large and subtle ways.
Don’t Tell Mama is an all-cash venue. The $35 cover charge and $20 two-drink minimum (and don’t forget to tip your server 😊!) must be paid in cash at the end of the show.
